LAHORE, Jan 12 (INP): The head of the joint investigation team (JIT) constituted to carry out probe into the rape and murder of 7-year-old Zainab was changed on Friday at the request of her father. Regional police officer (RPO) Multan Muhammad Idrees was appointed as new head of the probe team. The heartbroken father of Zainab, Ameen Ansari, had raised objection on the head of the JIT formed to probe the horrific incident that outraged the entire nation. Addressing a press conference, Ameen demanded that he didn’t have trust in the head of the JIT, and therefore, he should be changed. Meanwhile, the situation in Kasur on Friday partially normalized after two days of seven-year-old Zainab’s brutal murder as the traders have called off shutter down strike. The negotiations between Rangers and administration were positively concluded as maximum educational institutions have been opened today whereas the transportation can also be witnessed on the roads. Queues were seen at breakfast markets in the early morning whereas the traffic flow has also been restored in the metropolis. However, Rangers and police personnel are still deployed at sensitive places to avoid any untoward situation. The officers have requested the citizens to not violate law and order. INP/LK
