LAHORE, Jan 18 (INP) Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has welcomed the proposal of the new Chief Justice of Pakistan for a national dialogue and said that a dialogue between national institutions would have salutary results.
He was addressing the concluding session of the JI central workshop for party workers at Mansoora.
Sirajul Haq said that in the elections, the people voted for a change but every time, more incompetent persons than before came to power. He said the difference between the previous and the present rulers was only in name as their actions were the same.
He said the amount of loan secured by the present rulers during its six months was almost the same what the previous rulers had secured during five years. The burden of loan on the country was increasing by Rs. 620 million per hour which might drown the ship of the national economy. Referring to the withdrawal of the names of some persons from the ECL, the JI chief said it proved that the government took decisions without giving a thought. Sirajul Haq said that the party that had been talking much of accountability had made the entire exercise a doubtful because out of the names in the Panama leaks, none except the former Prime Minister had been tried and punished. He said the people were tired of the war of words between politicians. He said the previous and the present rulers were fighting with each other but they joined hands against the ban on liquor and for the release of Christian woman Aasia Masih charged with blasphemy.
Sirajul Haq said the JI wanted real accountability and not political victimization. He said that if real accountability was held, new jails would be needed in the country.
