Minister Power directs to conduct full load power test for peak summer from June 17

ISLAMABAD, June 11 (INP): Federal Minister for Power, Omar Ayub Khan has directed PEPCO, all DISCOs and NTDC to conduct peak summer full load test of the entire electricity generation, transmission and distribution system from June 17, 2019 (Monday) in order to ascertain its capacity, identify bottlenecks/constraints and prepare mitigation plan.
The direction were given during a high level meeting chaired by Omar Ayub Khan and attended by MD PEPCO, CEOs of DISCOs, MD NTDC, officials of NPCC and other high official of Power Division here on Tuesday.
The Minister Power said that full load test for each Electricity Distribution Company during peak summer is very much essential to evaluate various technical parameters necessary for future planning and expansion of the system.
During the meeting it was also decided to conduct monthly integrated meeting of all DISCOs and NTDC in order to evaluate performance and resolution of various technical and administrative matters. It was also decided that Power Division will take up on priority all matters relating to government for expeditious disposal of cases and implementation of different projects for system augmentation and expansion.
