KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Karachi on Tuesday issued directives of shifting the Money laundering case against founder and leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to the federal capital.
The orders were issued by ATC on the recommendation of Sindh High Court (SHC) as the ATC Islamabad now prepares to hold its hearing in the case on July 19.
It may be pertinent to mention that Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Interior Ministry had written a letter to ATC Karachi’s court no. 02, pleading to move the case from Karachi to Islamabad.
According to sources within FIA, law and order situation within Karachi may get disrupted after the court announces its verdict in this case.
The Federal Agency has also claimed that lawyers in Karachi who are involved in case proceedings are also under pressure.
