December 14, 2018

ISLAMABAD, Dec 14 (INP): The opposition on Friday walked out of the National Assembly and Senate sessions, in protest over non-issuance of a production order for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique.

During National Assembly session, the opposition party members staged a walkout when the NA Speaker Asad Qaiser denied granting production orders for Khwaja Saad Rafique who is under arrest at the moment.

Sharing his thoughts on the matter as the session got under way, Pakistan Peoples Party lawmaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf expressed his concern over the delay in issuance of production order for Rafique.

Following the opposition’s walkout, the assembly session was adjourned till Monday.

Meanwhile, the opposition walked out from the Session Senate session also over non-issuance of production orders for the prominent PML-N leader, Khawaja Saad Rafique.

During the Senate session, Raja Zafar ul Haq alleged National Accountability (NAB) for inventing new methods of taking media trial of the political leaders. He added, “Without granting any time for explanation, names are published in the newspapers, Pir Sabir Shah is the prime example in the case as his name was published in the papers too.”

Saad Rafique and his brother Salman Rafique were arrested by the NAB earlier this week, in connection to the Paragon Housing Society scam after the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected their request for an extension in their pre-arrest bail in the case.
