Pakistan’s exports to the United States increased by 9% in the first quarter of FY2025-26, reaching $1.59 billion, while overall trade with Europe remained steady, reflecting continued international confidence in Pakistani products, the latest data from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) shows.

The U.S. retained its position as Pakistan’s largest export destination, driven primarily by textiles, apparel, and home furnishings. Exports to Spain surged 14%, while France, Poland, and Sweden also posted growth, underscoring the country’s resilience and market strength in the Western hemisphere.

Trade with China and other Asian partners saw a slight slowdown amid global supply chain adjustments, but TDAP officials expect a rebound as new export agreements under regional frameworks begin to take effect. Pakistan’s strategy to diversify its export base is starting to pay off. Exports to Africa and the Americas registered positive trends, while European demand for sustainable and high-quality textiles continues to strengthen.

Textiles and apparel remained the backbone of export performance, with strong gains in bedlinen, hosiery, and women’s apparel — the latter climbing 46% during September alone. “Pakistan’s exporters have demonstrated exceptional adaptability — they’ve not only retained their markets but also expanded into new product lines,” a TDAP representative said.

Industry analysts attribute this upward momentum to improved energy availability, enhanced logistics, and better trade facilitation at ports. With new trade agreements under negotiation and the government pushing for further diversification, Pakistan is well-positioned to benefit from shifting global sourcing patterns and the rising demand for sustainable, cost-effective products.
