ISLAMABAD, March 23 (INP): The three armed forces of Pakistan i-e Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) performed parade in the parade ground Shakarparian Islamabad as the nation marks the 78th Pakistan Day with national zeal and fervour on Friday. Indian Defence Attache and senior officers of the Indian High Commission were attended in the Pakistan Day celebrations for the first time. President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain was the chief guest while Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena was the guest of honour. Contingents of UAE, military band of Jordan and paratroopers from Jordon and Turkish T 129 Gunship helicopters participated for the first time. SSG sky divers team were led by GOC SSG Major Gen Tahir Bhutta People chanted slogans and clap for COAS on his arrival in Parade venue. Pakistan Army aviation fly past and Pakistan Air Force air show was thriller. Gran Mufti of Egypt and representatives from Bahrain, China, KSA, Jordon, Malaysia also attended the celebrations. The script and production was entirely done by ISPR. First time it was a direct telecast from satellite to TV channels. The script and narration of parade was done by team of commentators led by Lt Col Shafiq of ISPR along with Farha Sadia and Sadia Sattar who kept interest of audience in parade. The poetry was unique and selected as per occasion and script included struggle for Pakistan and tribute to those who sacrificed for mother land and tribute to Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal for independent Pakistan. The focus was more on Pakistan Movement and trust of nation in Armed forces of Pakistan for defence of motherland. Pakistan’s efforts in war against terrorism and contributions in UN for global peace and security were highlighted. A special song with school children by Sahir Ali Bagga, Akhter Channal, Rehmat Bano was sung at conclusion. A large no people from all walks of life including defence attachies, media representatives, artists, showbiz people, sportsmen and school children attended the ceremony.
