People's Train Service project in Balochistan on track for completion by year-end

The Balochistan government has allocated Rs1.7 billion for the People's Train Service project, which has achieved 35% physical progress and is on track for completion by December 31, 2026.
According to a document available with Wealth Pakistan, the train will operate between Saryab and Kuchlak railway stations and aims to provide an affordable, dignified and fast travel solution for people in the province.
The Planning and Development Wing of the Government of Balochistan approved the Rs2.94 billion PC-I on January 26, 2026.
The execution comprises civil works worth Rs1.5 billion and mechanical works amounting to Rs1.45 billion.
The agreement with the agency responsible for carrying out infrastructure works worth Rs468 million was signed on February 18, 2026.
The People’s Train Service is being advanced as a new rail initiative between Saryab and Kuchlak, combining civil and mechanical works to provide faster, affordable and dignified travel for people in Balochistan.
