PM defends Pakistan against Trump’s tweet; Says don’t consider Trump tweets official US policy

DAVOS, Jan 27 (INP): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has categorically stated that the ground realities do not support what President Trump is saying about Pakistani role in the fight against terrorism and situation in Afghanistan. In an interview with Washington Post, here, when asked what his response to Trump’s tweet was, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said : “The ground realities do not support what President Trump is saying. We are committed to fighting the war against terror. There are no two ways about it. We have assisted the U.S. forces and will continue to assist them. There have been over 1.1 million over flights within our airspace, U.S. aircraft going to Afghanistan and fighting the war there. There have been millions of tons of equipment and cargo going there. There has not been a single instance where if actual intelligence has been provided to us, it has not been acted upon”. INP/AH
