MUZAFFARABAD, AJK, Dec 15 (INP): Prime Minister Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi inaugurated 147 megawatts of Patreend Hydropower Project here on Friday. This project has been completed at a cost of $ 346 million, constructed on River Kunhar edging Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Khyber Pakhtun Khwa (KPK) province by Star Hydro Power Limited Company of Korea. President AJK Sardar Masood Khan, Prime Minister AJK Raja Mohammad Farooq Haider Khan, Cabinet members AJK, Chief Secretary Dr. Ejaz Munir, IG Police Dr. Shoaib Dastgir and other VIPs welcomed the Prime Minister Pakistan Shahid Khaqaan Abbasi on his arrival. Under this project, 632 million units will be generated and as per agreement between the said Company and both provincial and State Governments will get 7.5 paisa per unit as water usage charges which will generate up to 47.4 million rupees revenue annually. The electricity obtained by this project will be incorporated to National Grid Station through the grid station of Muzaffarabad. Earlier, AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan in their addresses thanked federal government for launching mega projects in different sectors in the State. President Sardar Masood Khan appreciated Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for adopting unequivocal stance over Kashmir and Palestine at extra-ordinary summit of OIC in Turkey. Raja Farooq Haider said the PML-N government is committed and seriously perusing all the development projects for the betterment of the masses. The AJK Prime Minister said that when in Pakistan, PML -N government took over the country it was facing serious challenges like power load shedding, terrorism. He said the law and order situation in the country has improves and the terrorists are at run. Raja Farooq Haider said the government has addressed all the challenges effectively and now the country has been put on the path of progress and development. He said the energy situation has improved and will further improve by next year. He said there is zero load shedding in the country. INP/SB/AK
