ISLAMABAD, April 05 (INP): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is expected to announce today a special package to facilitate the return of assets parked abroad by Pakistanis. According to sources, the details of the package will be determined by the economic advisory council (EAC) whereas a presidential ordinance will give legal cover to the scheme. A meeting of the EAC is presently under way under the chair of the prime minister. Sources informed that the package will allow Pakistanis to bring back their foreign assets to the country by June 30, 2018 after paying a tax of two per cent. Those bringing back their assets will not face further scrutiny or levy, whereas the scheme will also be applicable to those keeping but not declaring their domestic assets. Moreover, the premier is also expected to announce a favourable scheme on the import of vehicles. Inp/khan
