PML-N, PPP, MQM rigged 2013 general elections Imran

December 28, 2017

ISLAMABAD, Dec 28 (INP): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday accused his political rivals including the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) of rigging the previous general elections in 2013 in their respective areas. In a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site, he said that all three parties selected their own ‘umpires’ before contesting the 2013 elections. He appealed for free and fair elections in 2018. He discussed that the vote bank of PML-N skyrocketed only due to rigging in 2013, justifying the 2014 sit-ins staged by PTI. Imran Khan tweeted, “We were right in doing the dharna to get an investigation so next elections would be free and fair. Now it must be clear to all how PML-N vote bank went from 6.8 million in 2008 to 15 million in 2013!”
