PM’s 7-member Kashmir Committee not acceptable: Raza Rabbani

August 07, 2019

ISLAMABAD, Aug 07 (INP): Senior leader Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Raza Rabbani has said that the seven-member Kashmir Committee formed by the Prime Minister Imran Khan is not acceptable.

“Unluckily, Parliament access to foreign policy overturned and it has not been informed on the issues by the other institutions,” he said adding that Pakistan is losing its stature in world powers corridors.

He expressed fear that India will now do ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri population to strengthen its control on Kashmir. He said this will be construed as state terrorism should India continues its policy unabated.

Raza Rabbani said narrative on suppression of Kashmiris voices and their genocide by the occupying authorities must be promoted in the Western world. He suggested changing the course of foreign policy in order to achieve meaningful results.

The veteran PPP leader said an independent foreign policy based on Pakistan’s national interest and security, drawing the country away from the role of a client state, rebuilding Pakistan’s credibility in international corridors of power, refusing to accept India as regional policeman, stopping the realignment of foreign policy towards Washington and looking towards Asia as our future will result in diplomatic successes.

He also demanded the government to constitute a parliamentary party to take forward the foreign policy of Pakistan.
