Poisonous Nestle Lactogen milk claims infant’s life, matter being suppressed

April 29, 2019

ISLAMABAD, April 29 (INP): Senior analyst Sami Ibrahim has alleged that an infant died because of Nestle’s lactogen milk. In a video, Sami Ibrahim said that Nestle provides lactogen milk for infants and doctors recommend this milk for the babies. Narrating the story of Usman Bhatti, he said the man got the milk for his one-month-old baby girl Wajeeha. The baby’s breathing stopped after having the milk and she died in the hospital. After her death, Usman Bhatti got her postmortem conducted from a forensic lab in Lahore. A board of expert doctors comprised the forensic board. The board revealed that the infant died due to formula milk which had greater quantities of calcium and potassium lactogen. This had caused her breathing to disrupt. Nestle, however, tried to suppress the matter, saying the milk given to the one-month-old was not lactogen. “The parents did not give us any milk pack. We are a great brand. If this milk has claimed the girl’s life, how are other babies surviving,” Nestle said in its statement. A senior lawyer has written a letter to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Punjab food Authority (PFA) to take action against the brand. The father of the girl, Usman Bhatti also alleged that shots were fired on him to threaten him to bury the case. Sami Ibrahim said that the case of the baby’s death at the hands of Nestle Lactogen has been registered while an inquiry is underway. The journalist said that he has collected many evidences against Nestle and he will soon expose the brand. Sami Ibrahim questioned why the powerful elite are trying to save Nestle, adding the poor Pakistani people are not a matter of concern for them. He said that the PFA is also being sidelined as a Punjab Assembly committee has been made against the authority. INP/Obd/SB
