PTI awards ticket to Seemi Ezdi for Senate seat in Punjab

ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (INP): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday awarded ticket for Senate seat in Punjab to Seemi Ezdi, sister of senior party leader Jhangir Tareen, after the approval of party chief and Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. It is worth mentioning here that at least 11 PTI women including Firdous Ashiq Awan, Nargis Jabeen, Nida Rehman, Rukhsana Bhatti, Sima Anwaar, Asma Badar, Noreen Farooqui, Irum Bukhari, Dr Zarqa and Sara Ahmed had submitted applications to contest the Senate election from Punjab. However, the party found Seemi Ezdi suitable for the ticket to contest the poll on the said Senate seat to be held on November 15, 2018. The seat fell vacant after the disqualification of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member Sadia Abbasi.
