Sacrificial animals' sale banned within Islamabad city

August 03, 2018

ISLAMABAD, Aug 03 (INP): The district administration Islamabad has imposed a ban on sale and purchase of sacrificial animals in sectors of the federal capital. The district administration has directed the cattle traders to continue their business at designated spots. The step has been taken to keep a check on spread of contagious diseases caused by animals, the officials in capital administration said. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has designated space for the cattle market, but certain sellers disregard the designated area and move sacrificial animals in bulk within the city. Ban has also been imposed on keeping of the sacrificial animals on roads, green belts, and empty plots in various sectors of the city as influx of the cattle pose not only a health hazard but they are also a source of obstruction to traffic flow, traffic accidents and annoyance or injury to the people at large. Keeping in view of such risk the district magistrate prohibited any every kind of sale and purchase and presence of sacrificial animals in bulk in the sectors of Islamabad. The ban was imposed immediately and shall remain in force till next orders.
