ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (INP): The Supreme Court on Thursday adjourned hearing of a petition seeking disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary General Jahangir Tareen till October 23. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Faisal Arab was hearing the petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi seeking disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and the party’s secretary general Jahangir Tareen over non-disclosure of assets, owning offshore companies as well as allegedly receiving funds for PTI from prohibited sources. The court issued notice to Additional Attorney General seeking opinion on Sections 15-A and 15-B of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan Act. The chief justice said that the court would hear the miscellaneous application filed by Imran Khan regarding the money trial on Monday. During the hearing, the Chief Justice expressed his anger over TV talks shows, saying that bench members observations and remarks were not decision rather dialogue between the judges and lawyers, but talks shows are conducted on the basis of these remarks. The CJP remarked that those conducting talk shows were ignorant of the laws and court proceedings. The CJP said that the court was showing extreme restrains and cautions. He revealed that he was receiving messages on mobile phone stating that the SC’s honor and dignity was at stake. “We are being urged in these messages to taken action whatever was being said about SC,” he commented. He said that he had immense tolerance and he had to see everything in national interests, adding that that people should criticize SC judgment but not to target the institution.   INP/LK/AH
