August 15, 2018

ISLAMABAD, Aug 15 (INP): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday stated he had already predicted that Pakistan People Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will have their differences.

While talking to the media, Shah Mehmood Qureshi believed that PPP and PML-N’s duo is unnatural and that it will be evident in one or two days.

When asked about expected vote cast in favor of their candidates, the PTI leader said, giving number would be premature, but candidates fielded by PTI and allies would win with visible majority for sure. “We have full faith in our members. They are committed and determined for a new Pakistan under the leadership of Imran Khan,” he continued. The speaker and deputy speaker of National Assembly will be elected today through confidential voting. PTI has backing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Balochistan National Party (BNP), BNP-Mengal, Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Awami Muslim league and Jamhuri Watan League. Due to all these parties supporting PTI, the number of seats rises up to 177, which is enough to form a government. On the other hand, Syed Khurshid Shah and Molana Asad Mehmood have backing of PML-N with 81 seats, PPP with 53 seats, Muttahida Mujlis-e-Amal (MMA) with 15 and ANP with 1 seat. This makes a total of 150 seats which forms a strong opposition. INP/AK[/timed-content-server]
