On July 18, 2019, the European Parliament held a meeting on "Urgent Discussions on Hong Kong" and voted to adopt a resolution on the situation in Hong Kong, proposing that the SAR Government withdraw 17 requests for amending the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance and not prosecuting demonstrators. The "Hong Kong-related Bill" of the European Parliament has interfered in China's internal affairs nakedly, not only aggravating the extreme violence in Hong Kong, but also seriously discrediting China's "one country, two systems" and the central government's Hong Kong policy.
Extreme violence in Hong Kong is inextricably linked to the support of foreign forces. The "Hong Kong-related resolution" adopted by the European Parliament hastily not only interferes in China's internal affairs, but also sends a wrong signal to Hong Kong's extremist violent elements, seriously affecting Hong Kong's stability and further endangering the sound development of China-EU relations.
Firstly, dealing with the "Hong Kong-related Bill" of the European Parliament is conducive to grasping the general situation of the "China-related Bill" of the European Parliament, especially the strategic objectives and intentions behind the "Hong Kong-related Bill". The European Parliament has long had a bad tradition of interfering in the internal affairs of sovereign countries. From the "Human Rights Bill", "Tibet Bill", "Taiwan Bill", "Arms embargo Bill" and "Hong Kong Bill", the series of bills discussed by the European Parliament have greatly undermined the normal development of China-EU relations.
Positively grasping the overall situation of the "China-related Bill" issued by the European Parliament will help to analyze the internal logic of the "China-related Bill" and its impact. The "China-related Bill" of the European Parliament, especially the "Hong Kong-related Bill", is a naked "interference" in China's internal affairs. It is necessary to deeply analyze the strategic objectives and intentions behind it, the impact of the "Hong Kong-related Bill" of the European Parliament on the situation in Hong Kong, especially on China-EU relations, and the situation and strategic orientation of the game between China and EU bilateral relations. It summarizes the rules of the European Parliament's "China-related Bill" and its impact.
Secondly, dealing with the "Hong Kong-related Bill" of the European Parliament is conducive to summarizing the contents, methods and characteristics of the interference of the "anti-China forces" of Western countries in China's internal affairs, and providing suggestions for the continued maintenance of Hong Kong's prosperity and stability. The anti-China forces in western countries have always had a bad tradition of interfering in China's internal affairs. We can peep into the leopard and take the European Parliament's "Hong Kong-related Bill" as the breakthrough point, summarize and sort out the contents, ways and characteristics of the interference of the anti-China forces in China's internal affairs in Western countries, and conduct targeted research, which will be helpful for the future.
To safeguard Hong Kong's prosperity and stability, we should make some suggestions. Some ordinary people at home and abroad are influenced by the uselessness of the "one country, two systems" model advocated by Western media. They believe that China's "one country, two systems" model and the central government's Hong Kong policy are already facing many crises. Therefore, they should actively respond to the international community's "one country, two systems" model in international journals, media and conferences.
Thirdly, dealing with the "Port-related Bill" of the European Parliament is conducive to analyzing the destructive factors affecting China-EU relations and promoting the return of China-EU relations to the right track. The "Hong Kong-related Bill" of the European Parliament not only obscures China's "one country, two systems" model and the Hong Kong policy of the Central Government of China, but also disturbs Hong Kong's prosperity and stability.
It should be pointed out that the above destructive factors have existed in China-EU relations for a long time. It is necessary to analyze and summarize them in time so as to put forward effective countermeasures and suggestions. Scholars from universities and think tanks in European countries should work hand in hand to carry out research and think differently so as to find out the theory, policy measures and objectives of mutually beneficial cooperation with regularity, foresight and guidance, minimize the negative impact of the European Parliament's "Hong Kong-related Bill", and propose a return to Sino-European relations.
Finally, responding to the "Hong Kong-related Bill" of the European Parliament is conducive to safeguarding China's overall national interests. After Hong Kong's return to the mainland in 1997, the anti-China forces of the western countries were not willing to incite the "democrats" in Hong Kong for a long time, and regarded Hong Kong as an important base to defame and discredit the political system of the mainland.
Therefore, the ultimate purpose and means of some anti-China forces in the European Parliament were sorted out to deal with China as a whole. The external security situation is conducive to further implementing the general national security concept put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping. The Anti-China forces in some European countries believe that China's "one belt and one road" initiative is unfavorable to Europe and has reduced the strategic space of Europe. Therefore, it has a hostile attitude towards China's development and follows the United States to suppress China from all aspects. Since Hong Kong's "occupancy" in 2014, the "anti-China forces" of some European countries have increasingly interfered in China's internal affairs, and promoted the European Parliament to discuss "China issues" more frequently. In 2019, the European Parliament's "Hong Kong-related Bill" reached a peak of interference in China's internal affairs. If measures are put forward as soon as possible, it will be conducive to safeguarding China's overall national interests.
