Travel ban on Sharifs: LHC issues notice to interior ministry

LAHORE, Nov 06 (INP): Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday issued notice to Interior Ministry on petition seeking removal names of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Capt (rtd) Safdar from Exit Control List (ECL). Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh was hearing the case in Lahore. During the hearing the petitioner informed the court that Interior Ministry is not providing the copy of written orders pertaining to placing Sharifs on ECL. The court issued notice to Ministry of Interior and sought reply in this regard. Later, the hearing was adjourned till January 14. The names of former premier Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz had been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) after orders of the Federal Cabinet.
