Two more children die of malnutrition, epidemics in Tharparkar

THAR, Dec 18 (INP): The malnutrition and epidemics continue to claim move lives as two more children fall prey to starvation and diseases on Wednesday.

The health department sources said that two among children who were under treatment at Civil Hospital Mithi expired during treatment.

The recent death in have taken the toll during December 2018, to 32 while 578 since January 01, 2018.

[timed-content-server show="12/20/2018 01:00 Asia/Karachi"]It is worth mentioning here that as per the health department reports, 1,500 children die due to malnutrition, infections and lack of proper medical facilities in different areas of Tharparkar every year. Meanwhile, according to a report released by the United Nation’s Children Fund in April 2018, Pakistan is among countries with the highest infant mortality rate, with 22 infants dying before turning one-month-old.
