UBG calls core committee meeting to finalize candidates in FPCCI election on Oct 15

LAHORE Oct 13 ( INP )The United Businessman Group will field the best candidates for all top slots of president, senior vice president and vice presidents in the forthcoming annual elections of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and their names will be finalized in a high level core committee meeting on Oct 15 in this regard.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, Chairman United Businessman Group, Iftikhar Ali Malik said top trade leaders across the country would be taken into confidence while finalising the names of candidates for the next term of the FPCCI.

The patron-in-Chief SM Muneer, former presidents including Mian Muhammad Adrees, Zubair Tufail, Abdul Rauf Alam, Ghazanfar Bilour and Daru Khan will be present on this occasion.

He said Abdul Razzaq Dawood has assured to address all the genuine grievances of the business community on top priority and conveyed to Prime Minister Imran Khan their demands and suggestions for the promotion of the trade activities inside the country. He made it clear that all candidates would be nominated through consensus of all group leaders. He claimed his group would again sweep federation election. He said in the decision making process, due weightage would be given to the opinion of MC members from Punjab and heads of the provincial committees. Iftikhar Ali Malik said as per traditions of rotation, the next federation president will be from Balochistan.He said the group always focused on attaining economic prosperity of the country through advocating the just cause of the traders. “The business community across the country was aware of the UBG services and they know the past of opponents,” he added. “UBG will continue to follow its 30 points agenda mainly aimed at accelerating the pace of economic activities and expedite the process of rapid industrialization besides bringing green revolution in the country, which he added will ultimately help improve the socio-economic conditions of the poor strata of the society especially farmers and growers,” he added. He also announced to extend all support to Prime Minister Imran Khan in his mission to eliminate corruption, in all its forms and manifestations, from the country. Iftikhar Malik also urged the government to focus on arresting the downward graph of dwindling export on urgent basis and provide package of incentives to boost exports. INP/LK[/timed-content-server]
