Zulfi Bukhari blacklist case: IHC directs defence ministry to submit reply until Monday

June 27, 2018

ISLAMABAD, June 27(INP): Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday directed defence ministry to submit written reply until Monday pertaining to inclusion of Zulfi Bukhari’s name in blacklist. A representative of the ministry appeared before the court. Justice Amir Farooq inquired how did a private plane landed on army’s airbase. [timed-content-server show="06/28/2018 01:00 Asia/Karachi"]The representative replied that he came to know about the appearance in case last night and has also not received the copy of the petition yet. “You should have appeared before the court along with a written reply. Such delay should not occur in official matters. You should have considered other parties also. These people appear in respect of judiciary,” the judge remarked while expressing resentment. The IHC further questioned that NAB had requested to name Zulfi in Exit Control List (ECL), then why he was included in blacklist. “The sub-committee responsible for placing the name in ECL was not present,” responded the interior ministry. “You will include the name anywhere if a sub-committee is not there?” the judge rebuked. The hearing was adjourned after arguments concluded. INP/LK/AJ[/timed-content-server]
