In yet another incident highlighting risks faced by women and children in India, a sixth-grade student was sexually assaulted inside a shop in Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar area.The girl had gone out to purchase stationery when she was lured into a shop, restrained with her hands and legs tied, and sexually assaulted. 

The incident came to light after police received a PCR call on the night of September 16. Based on the victim’s complaint, a case was registered at the Women Police Station of North District under relevant sections including rape, wrongful confinement and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
