Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of indulging in “vote theft” through the Election Commission, claiming Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remark about BJP ruling for another 40-50 years was tied to electoral manipulation. Addressing a rally in Madhubani during the party’s Voter Adhikar Yatra, Rahul said people must protect their right to vote to safeguard the Constitution.
“If voting rights are lost, the Constitution cannot be protected,” he warned. He alleged that the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar exposed both the BJP and the Election Commission. “The EC deleted names of 65 lakh voters in Bihar, and now they will add 65 lakh electors to help the BJP,” he said.
Rahul further claimed that neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Amit Shah responded to his charges of “vote chori” and added that the RSS had no respect for the Constitution, which guarantees equal rights to all. The rally was also attended by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Ram.
