In yet another display of rising communal hate under the BJP rule, a senior party leader and former MLA, Raghavendra Pratap Singh, has sparked outrage after publicly urging Hindu youths to “kidnap” Muslim girls and convert them to Hinduism. Singh made the shocking remarks while addressing a public meeting in Dumariyaganj area of Siddharth Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh. The video of his hate speech went viral on social media this week.
Singh is heard saying, “For every two Hindu girls who embraced Islam, kidnap at least ten Muslim girls and convert them to Hinduism. I will arrange the marriages and provide jobs too.” He further boasted that with Yogi Adityanath’s government in power, there was “no need to worry.” The ex-MLA later defended his statement. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati condemned the remarks as “shameful,” accusing the BJP of “spreading hatred in the name of religion and inciting unemployed youth.” The BJP leadership has so far remained silent on the controversy.
