People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has urged the authorities not to punish the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the actions of a single individual in the Delhi car blast.  According to Kashmir Media Service, visiting Drugmulla, Kupwara, Mehbooba stressed that while the guilty must be held accountable, ordinary Kashmiris should not bear the brunt of collective punishment. 

Mehbooba expressed deep concern over the circumstances that led to the Nowgam Police Station blast, questioning how such a large quantity of explosives was transported from Delhi and criticizing lapses in utilizing professional oversight, which put policemen and officials at unnecessary risk. 

She demanded an immediate and thorough inquiry into the incident, calling for clarity and accountability. Mehbooba also urged the government to provide full assistance and adequate compensation to the families of the deceased, many of whom have young children.
