Indian forces, in their continued state terrorism, have arrested five more students in Sopore town of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, raising the number of detentions to 13 over the past two days.According to Kashmir Media Service, the arrested youth had participated in a peaceful protest led by students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Sopore town against the molestation of a girl student.
Earlier, Indian forces during overnight house raids and search operations had arrested eight youth, including students, in the town. Indian forces, while hiding the truth and trying to suppress genuine protests, dubbed the students as “miscreants” and booked them under the black law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Raids and searches continued today to arrest over two dozen more participants. The draconian law, AFSPA, remains in force in IIOJK, giving Indian forces a free hand to barge into houses, arrest, and kill anyone without any reason.
