Four police personnel were injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a police vehicle at the Gattidas check post within the limits of Naran police station.According to police officials, unknown assailants hiding in the nearby mountains targeted the vehicle during routine patrolling. The exchange of fire left four policemen injured.

Emergency teams from the Kaghan Development Authority rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to Naran Hospital through Rescue 1122 ambulances. They were later referred to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in Mansehra for specialized treatment.

Following the attack, a heavy police contingent reached the area and launched a large-scale search operation.  Authorities confirmed that Chilas police had also been taken on board as part of a joint operation to trace the attackers.
