Indian forces personnel launched violent cordon-and-search operations in Baramulla district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian Army, paramilitary and Border Security Force personnel conducted search and frisking operations in Uri and other areas of the district. Army officials said the operation was launched after detecting suspicious movement near the Line of Control in the Uri area.
However, no recoveries were reported at the time of filing this report. In a separate operation, Indian personnel from the 2nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) claimed to have recovered a live Chinese grenade in the Tappar Kreeri area of Baramulla district.
Indian police and paramilitary forces also conducted raids at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu, where hundreds of detainees were subjected to interrogation. Over 600 prisoners, including Hurriyat leaders and activists, are currently languishing in the jail.
