March 30, 2026

A shocking incident came to light after a married Indian Navy officer killed his lover at his residence in Visakhapatnam, dismembered the body, and stored it in a refrigerator. The accused has been identified as Chintada Ravindra and his lover, Polipalli Mounika, Indian media reported on Monday.

According to the Circle Inspector of Police (CI) in Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam, the incident occurred at a house in LV Nagar, where police found the remains hidden inside the suspect’s residence, half stored in a refrigerator and the other half packed in a gunny bag. Ravindra, a 35-year-old Navy officer posted at INS Dega, reportedly connected with 29-year-old Mounika on a dating app in 2021. Ravindra’s wife went to her parents’ house in Vizianagaram a couple of weeks ago.

Sensing it was the best time to spend quality time with his lover, Ravindra, on Sunday afternoon, decided to call Mounika over.Later, a fight erupted between the two, during which Ravindra allegedly stabbed Mounika to death. He then dismembered her body, placing some parts in a bag and taking them to an isolated location to dispose of, while storing the remaining parts in a refrigerator at his home. Ravindra later went to a police station and confessed to the crime.

He told authorities that Mounika had taken Rs3.5 lakh from him and frequently threatened to reveal their relationship to his wife. According to officials, these threats were the cause of their frequent disputes, including the one on the day of the murder. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered dismembered body parts inside the house and refrigerator.

Mounika’s head was missing, and authorities suspect that Ravindra disposed of it at a different location. A special police team has been formed to search for the remaining body parts. A murder case has been registered, and further investigation was ongoing.
