Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Thursday condemned the latest Israeli airstrikes on Syria, calling them "unhinged aggression" and warning that the attacks could spread further instability across the region. In a strongly worded statement posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Araghchi said:
“Unfortunately, this was all too predictable. Which capital is next?” Describing Israel as a "rabid regime" that “knows no bounds and only grasps one language”, the Iranian foreign minister urged regional and global powers to unite in confronting what he termed Israel’s escalating military provocations. “The world, including the region, must unite to end its unhinged aggression,” he wrote.
Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s support for Damascus amid ongoing violence in Suweida, where over 300 people have been killed in recent clashes between Druze militias, Bedouin tribes, and government forces, compounded by Israeli strikes on key Syrian military targets. “Iran supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, and will always stand with the Syrian people,” he added.
