Analysts and political observers have slammed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks portraying India and China as “victims of terrorism,” calling it a brazen act of hypocrisy that ignores India’s own state-sponsored terrorism in the region. Observers said India has for years targeted the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) through its intelligence agencies, orchestrating deadly attacks to sabotage the multibillion-dollar project.
Since 2021 alone, there have been at least 14 confirmed terrorist assaults on Chinese nationals working in Pakistan, clearly pointing to New Delhi’s hand in destabilization. Experts stressed that these attacks are not the work of local elements but are planned and executed under direct patronage of Indian agencies to obstruct regional development and frustrate Pakistan-China strategic cooperation.
They noted that Modi’s crocodile tears over terrorism stand exposed in the face of India’s continued sponsorship of violence across borders. They maintained that while China has genuinely suffered from Indian-backed terror plots, Modi is attempting to whitewash India’s role by posing as a victim. “This false narrative cannot conceal New Delhi’s evil designs against Pakistan, China, and the entire region,” the observers added.
