A strong protest broke out in the Palma area of Rajouri district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir after reports surfaced about a major bank fraud. According to Kashmir Media Service, scores of agitated residents took to the streets and blocked the Rajouri-Kotranka road, demanding the immediate return of their hard-earned money and stern action against those involved in the scam.
The protesters accused the bank officials of misappropriating public funds and called for an impartial probe into the case. Bank Deputy General Manager Rajouri, Rajeev Dhingra, told the media that a Special Management Committee had been constituted to investigate the matter thoroughly.
