Protests erupt in Jammu against kidnap, rape of minor girlBreaking

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a wave of anger swept through Jammu today as hundreds took to the streets to protest the kidnap and rape of a minor girl in Bishnah area. According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with locals demanding justice for the victim and stringent punishment for the accused. 

Protesters in Jammu vowed to continue their agitation until justice is served, calling for the death penalty for the accused. The incident has sent shockwaves across the region, with locals demanding greater safety measures for women and children.Police have confirmed the arrest of Arjun Lakhotra, 27, in connection with the heinous crime.

According to officials, Lakhotra was apprehended after a thorough investigation involving technical evidence and human intelligence inputs. “We are collecting scientific evidence and will ensure that the perpetrator faces the full force of the law,” a police spokesperson said.The arrest followed widespread public outrage, with the Jammu community demanding strict enforcement of law and protection for minors against such heinous crimes. 

The incident has revived memories of the horrific Asifa rape and murder case in Rasana village, Kathua district, which took place in January 2018, where a minor girl was abducted, sexually assaulted, and killed, sparking nationwide outrage and protests. Citizens and human rights activists in Jammu have urged authorities to ensure justice is delivered swiftly and to prevent such heinous crimes from recurring.
