Shopkeepers, dhaba operators, workers and other small traders staged a protest outside the office of the Deputy Commissioner, seeking rehabilitation and other measures to address their concerns in Reasi district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir,. According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters submitted a memorandum to the authorities, seeking rehabilitation for businesses and traders whose livelihoods have been affected by the construction work between Kali Dhar and Bhambla of the district.

They also called for local youth and workers to be given priority in employment opportunities arising from Border Roads Organisation (BRO) projects in the area. The protesters further demanded regular public transport services in the affected areas, saying improved connectivity was important for residents as well as local businesses.

The memorandum highlighted the impact of the ongoing infrastructure works on the livelihoods of small traders, particularly shopkeepers and dhaba operators. The protesters urged the administration to take appropriate steps for the rehabilitation of affected traders and ensure that local residents receive employment opportunities linked to the ongoing road and tunnel projects.
