Restrictions have further been tightened across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with intensified frisking, vehicle checking, tight vigil, and increased area domination exercises visible in Srinagar and other districts of the Valley.In Srinagar, police and other forces’ personnel were seen conducting checking and frisking at several points. Joint parties stopped vehicles, inspected identity documents and carried out searches at key junctions, approach roads and busy urban stretches.
Similar reports of additional deployment, naka checking and area domination were received from other districts of the Valley. Officials said the tightening followed directives issued by Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar to district Senior Superintendents of Police during law-and-order review meetings.Commuters reported random frisking of private vehicles, passenger transport and two-wheelers. Similar activity was reported from other Valley districts, with additional personnel pressed into area domination, night patrols and inter-district border checks.
