At the United Nations, Pakistan says Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be upheld without exception. Speaking at the UN Security Council's briefing on the political and humanitarian situation in Syria, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, said ongoing Israeli military actions violate international law. 

Such acts threaten regional peace and erode the authority of the Syrian state. He said Pakistan condemns these violations and reaffirms the importance of full compliance with the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. Asim Iftikhar said it is critical that diplomatic focus and international support for Syria remain undiminished.
