The Indian militaristic approach and might is right policy has failed in Kashmir; now it should shun its obduracy and start meaningful, result-oriented, and time-bound dialogue for the durable peace in the region. According to Kashmir Media Service, this was stated by APHC senior vice chairman Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar in a statement in Srinagar. He said that India has exhausted its oppressive methods and conspiracies to crush Kashmiris' struggle for the right to self-determination, but has miserably failed.
Kashmiris have proved that their spirit and passion for freedom are invincible, and they will never bow down before oppression and will never accept Indian hegemony. Expressing grave concern over the deployment of more troops under the cover of the security of Amarnath Yatra, APHC vice chairman said that India has already turned Kashmir into the most militarized area of the world, and the deployment of additional troops reflects its desperation and frustration.
He also condemned the current wave of arrest spree and said that Indian forces have arrested nearly 3 thousand Kashmiris since the Pahlgam episode. Expressing deep concern over the continued detention of political prisoners, he said that hundreds of Kashmiris, including APHC leaders, human rights activists, journalists, ordinary youth, and women, have been put behind bars under concocted cases.
These detainees are treated harshly by Indian authorities and are deprived of all basic health facilities. Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar saluted the courage of prisoners and said that they are heroes of the freedom movement, and their sacrifices will never go to waste. He further stated that cordon and search operations and vandalizing of household goods, and confiscation of properties have become major elements of Indian state terrorism in the disputed territory.
APHC leader said that Indian probe agencies like NIA, SIA and ED are round the clock criminalizing and brutalizing Kashmiris with the intention to intimidate and force them into submission. He stated that these agencies have made the lives of ordinary people a living hell. While paying great tributes to valiant Kashmiris for their steadfastness and courage, APHC leader said that the unarmed but brave Kashmiri people have defeated the world's 6th largest power and forced them to lick dust. India has deployed over one million trigger-happy troops in the territory.
