The Civil Society members have urged all international forums like United Nations, European Union and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to stop the rising human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian forces and Bharatiya Janata Party regime in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, these views were expressed by the speakers during a meeting of Civil Society members in Srinagar on “Jammu and Kashmir after August 5, 2019.”
The Civil Society members, including Dr Zubair Ahmed Raja, Muhammad Furhan, Muhammad Iqbal Shaheen and Syed Haider Hussain, in a meeting in Srinagar calling for the restoration of articles 370 and 35-A in their original form, an end to the atrocities and immediate solution to the Kashmir dispute in line with the United Nations resolutions, said Indian government must be pressured to stop excessive use of force on the innocent people in the occupied territory.
The participants strongly condemned the killing of a youth in a fake encounter in Jammu and attachment of property of a youth in Sopore by the Manoj Sinha-led BJP regime. They said that the commitment of Kashmiri people for freedom had frustrated India which had adopted a brutal policy to prevent the people of Kashmir from their just struggle for right to self-determination. They urged the United Nations and the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of unabated bloodshed in the territory.
