Civil society groups and human rights defenders have urged global justice-loving voices to stand with the oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir who are facing relentless repression at the hands of the Modi-led Indian regime. According to Kashmir Media Service, the activists said that freedom-loving people across the world must rise against India’s demographic engineering and systematic violations of Kashmiris’ fundamental rights.
They added that every voice raised in support of the beleaguered Kashmiris strengthens their peaceful struggle for the UN-recognized right to self-determination. They emphasized that supporting the just cause of Kashmir is tantamount to defending humanity itself. They called upon the Muslim Ummah, in particular, to break its silence and defend the suppressed people of the occupied territory.
The world community was reminded to shun its double standards and press India to halt its brutalities, release all political prisoners, and create conditions for the implementation of long-pending UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. The activists warned that Modi and his cohorts must realise that cruelty and repression in Kashmir will eventually boomerang, and they must be held accountable before the world for crimes against humanity committed in the territory.
