Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal inaugurated the newly established Regional Headquarters of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) Pakistan during a visit to the company’s office.

The minister was received by Managing Director Wang Hui Hua and other senior company representatives. The visit coincided with the Chinese Spring Festival and Lantern Festival, according to a Gwadar Pro's report.

Senior Advisor Dr. Hassan Daud Butt noted that the Regional Headquarters will oversee ongoing initiatives and actively participate in project implementation across the region.

CEEC currently operates more than 10 subsidiaries in Pakistan, reinforcing its operational capacity. The company regards Pakistan as a key investment destination.

Managing Director Wang Hui Hua highlighted CEEC’s role in advancing the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), including the Suki Kinari and Azad Pattan Hydropower Projects.

He noted that the company has undertaken a significant share of CPEC power generation projects, contributing to Pakistan’s energy security and economic growth.

Wang said the fully constructed headquarters demonstrates confidence in Pakistan’s economic future and a long-term commitment to local partnerships.

Minister Iqbal commended CEEC’s sustained investment and strategic contributions, noting that the expanding presence reflects the depth of Pakistan–China relations, marking 75 years of diplomatic ties and 13 years of CPEC cooperation.

He emphasized Pakistan’s efforts to promote sustainable economic growth through policy measures and structural reforms, with the energy sector as a key pillar under the URAAN Pakistan program.
