A China-aided health facility was inaugurated in the village of Ratwal, Attock district, Punjab province, marking a latest addition to the growing portfolio of China-Pakistan livelihood cooperation projects.

Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and Chinese Consul General in Lahore Sun Yan jointly attended the inauguration ceremony of the dispensary, which is expected to provide basic free medical services to nearly 80 surrounding villages where access to healthcare facilities has traditionally been limited.

The project is aimed at improving medical conditions in remote rural areas of Punjab and enhancing the health and well-being of local communities. It represents another outcome of China’s “small and beautiful” livelihood initiative and a vivid manifestation of the two countries’ efforts to build a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future for the new era.

Ratwal, a village in Attock District at an altitude of 531 meters, lies in a region where healthcare resources have long been scarce.

The newly inaugurated dispensary will help address the longstanding challenge of limited access to healthcare in Pakistan’s rural hinterlands.
