Speaking at the handing over event, Ambassador Jiang said the delivery was part of a broader 100-million-yuan aid package announced by Beijing, which followed an initial $2 million in cash assistance.

He stated that further shipments were being prepared. The first consignment of aid, consisting of 300 tents and 9,000 blankets, was delivered by the People's Liberation Army Air Force Y-20 aircraft at the Nur Khan Air Base. The handover ceremony was attended by the Chinese Ambassador and Pakistani federal ministers Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Amir Muqam.
