China, Pakistan to advance livestock tech transfer and joint R&DBreaking

February 11, 2026

Substantive cooperation outcomes have been achieved between Jinan Animal Husbandry Industry Craftsman College and Pakistani counterparts after a visit to Pakistan, held in conjunction with the 2026 China-Pakistan Agriculture Investment Conference.

The collaboration injects new impetus into bilateral livestock industry development, aligning with the advancement of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0, China Economic Net reported. During the visit, two key cooperation documents were signed to solidify consensus, the College revealed.

It inked a Framework Agreement on Industrial and Technological Cooperation and Talent Training with Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCJCCI), to jointly establish the China-Pakistan Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Industry Technology Cooperation Center, which will undertake technological R&D, standard-setting and customized talent training.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed with GO DAIRY Private Limited, focusing on the transfer of sheep in vitro fertilization and dairy cow breeding technologies, alongside tailored solutions and on-site expert guidance to address the enterprise’s breeding bottlenecks.

Consensus was also reached with the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) on curriculum co-construction and the development of a joint training base. A comprehensive and systematic promotion plan has thus been formulated to advance follow-up cooperation.

The College will set up a special China-Pakistan Animal Husbandry Cooperation Center and establish regular communication mechanisms with Pakistani partners to ensure the efficient coordination of all projects.

For core technology R&D, Chinese and Pakistani experts will focus on three key technologies— Himalayan pink salt application, sheep in vitro fertilization and dairy cow breeding — and co-establish a joint laboratory to enhance technology localization.
