BEIJING (INP): Jinzhong City, located in the central part of Shanxi Province, bordered by Taihang in the east, Fenhe in the west, and adjacent to the capital Taiyuan City in the north. Jinzhong is a young city with profound historical and cultural heritage and great development potentials. Jinzhong has adhered to the idea of regional concentration, project clustering, and industrial agglomeration, and has further increased investment promotion and project construction efforts to facilitate the industrial transformation and economic development in accordance with the entire industry development strategy since the construction of industrial zone clusters in 1996. So far, 11 development zones have been established, including 2 national-level development zones and 9 provincial-level industrial parks, and eventually has formed a new pattern "Two-Level and Three-Category" which leads integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries in the city.

Jinzhong Development Zone, a comprehensive transformation and reform demonstration zone in Shanxi Province, covers an area of 236.07 square kilometers, whose leading industries are new energy vehicles, smart manufacturing, functional food, medical health, modern logistics, etc. It aims to set up the new energy automobile industry chain with scale and the great health industry based on traditional Chinese medicine, biopharmaceuticals, innovative drugs and innovative medical devices. Qixian Economic Development Zone, SME featured industrial cooperation zone with “The Belt and Road”, whose leading industries are consumer goods industry, new energy and new materials. Qixian is designed to an industrial cluster centered on Yili Dairy, Qiao's Grand Courtyard, and Shanxi Danyuan Carbon. Jiexiu Economic & Technological Development Zone is a provincial development zone approved by the provincial government in July 2016, with a total planning area of 38.9 square kilometers.

It has gathered its leading industries such as coal, coke, steel, chemical, carbon, equipment manufacturing, new materials, etc. Taigu Economic & Technological Development Zone is designed as "One Zone & Two Parks" pattern, respectively Shuixiu New Industrial Park and Hucun Malleable Iron Casting Park, and its three leading industries, namely new materials and new technology, precision casting and modern service, have been initially formed. Zuoquan Eco Cultural Tourism Demonstration Zone takes Eco-cultural Tourism, Agricultural Products and New Energy as the leading industries. It is a comprehensive development zone integrating Red Tourism, Ecological Leisure, Characteristic Culture, Health and Vacation, and Industry Combination. Jinzhong National Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Zone, with functional agriculture as the leading development direction, builds characteristic industries based on agricultural breeding, seed industry protection, specialty agriculture, deep processing of agricultural products, biomedicine, new agricultural machinery and equipment manufacturing and modern service industries system.

Lingshi Economic & Technological Development Zone, with a planning area of 19.9 square kilometers, is dominated by modern coal chemical industry, aluminum industry and cultural tourism. Yushe Economic & Technological Development Zone, covering an area of 11 square kilometers, is positioned as an innovation demonstration zone for Shanxi's new-type pharmaceutical and health industry with pharmaceutical chemicals, biopharmaceuticals, and health functional foods as the mainstay. Pingyao Economic & Technological Development Zone has a total planning area of 19.83 square kilometers, whose leading industries include cultural tourism, green food processing and new materials. Shouyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, including its subordinate Chengnan New Material Industrial Park and Qilihe Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industrial Park, have developed new materials and energy conservation and environmental protection industries as the leading industry cluster. Heshun Economic & Technological Development Zone including Wenpo industrial Park and Binhe innovation and entrepreneurship Industrial Park, whose leading industries are new materials and functional food.
