Chinese architectural firm opens office in PakistanBreaking

A delegation from the Shenzhen University Institute of Architectural Design & Research Limited (SUIADR) inaugurated here its new office.

The launch of the Islamabad office follows a strategic collaboration agreement signed between SUIADR and Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd (HRL Group). 

The agreement was initially formalized in December 2025, according to a Gwadar Pro's report.

With the establishment of its Islamabad office, SUIADR will provide on-ground support for architectural and urban development projects in Pakistan, introducing innovative design practices and internationally recognized standards. 

The initiative further reinforces Pakistan–China cooperation in infrastructure development, urban innovation and sustainable growth.

The inauguration was led by Nianzhong Li, Deputy President of SUIADR. The delegation included Zhenyuan Yang and Quan Cheng, both Deputy Chief Architects, Xinyu Wan, Lead Architect of the Design Studio, and Tao Sun, Project Consultant and Chief Executive Officer of Sunchang Construction & Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd.

The ceremony was attended by Muhammad Aslam Malik, Chief Operating Officer of the HRL Group; Khalid Taimur Akram, Advisor to the Chairman of HRL; and Imran Zahid, Chief Executive Officer of Capital Smart Motors, underscoring the importance of the collaboration in strengthening design excellence and knowledge exchange between Pakistan and China.
