A Ramadan iftar reception supported by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC) and the local NGO Helping Hand Foundation Gwadar has been launched for underprivileged residents in Gwadar.
According to organisers, the iftar reception began on March 13 and will continue until the end of Ramadan, Gwadar Pro reported on Sunday.
The organisers said the programme is providing daily iftar meals to more than 300 people from low-income communities in the port city during Ramadan.
Food served at iftar includes water, beverages, traditional snacks, meals and local dishes.
A COPHC official said the company was arranging the iftar receptions for Muslim residents of Gwadar as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts.
