Chinese Embassy in Islamabad here on Tuesday hosted "A Shared Beaming Moon, All United Hearts and Hands" Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, with having a get-to-gather with the children or their parents who went through heart surgery with the support of Chinese doctors. The First Lady of Pakistan Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari was the Chief Guest on the occasion, who expressed her family's resolve and earnest efforts for improving the lot of the less-privileged people.
She recalled a recent visit to China, along with her father and ambassador Jiang that she said, has further paved the way of strengthening their all-weather relations. The countries, she believes could work together for the shared destiny and for their collective well-being. In his welcome remarks, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, warmly welcomed the presence of the First Lady in the function. He spoke high about the significance of the Moon festival in Chinese social and cultural life. This meant to promote friendship, brotherhood and happiness and collective wellbeing of the families.
The ambassador said the sitting with the children affected with heart disease is a goodwill and noble gesture on part of the two countries. While eulogizing the growing Sino-Pakistan friendship in Health and welfare sectors, he remarked that their friendship is unique one world over. He called for creating an environment World over that make sure a better life to physically affected people. He highlighted the various steps, being taken by Chinese government for prosperity and wellbeing of their people. We are working for the shared destiny of the entire humanity, he added.
Ambassador Jiang prayed for their ever-lasting friendship and continued growth of Pakistan in all spheres of life. The Ambassador's remarks, followed speeches by children who have received congenital heart disease treatment or their parents.
There was also speech by Dr. Pan Xiangbin, the vice President of Fuwai Hospital (Via video link). He expressed happiness that the affected children are back to their normal life. He assured that the Chinese doctors will continue to render their services, with best available health technology to help the Pakistani doctors for successfully conducting surgery of the heart patients.
The First Lady Asifa Bhutto further said, that it was her honour to attend heart-felt event. She paid tributes to the Chinese and Pakistani doctors for their dedicated efforts for bringing happiness to the effected children.
She also spoke in detail about their heart-to-heart relations. As having said by President Xi Jinping, they are needed to engage in converting words into actions, particularly in such social and health-based sectors. She also praised the Hospitals and the Heart-related medical Institutes which are providing free of cost services round the clock.
Asifa Bhutto also made some proposals for further consolidating the cooperative partnership in health sector, that could include setting up a joint body for taking necessary steps and introducing fellowship programs for the young doctors.
