In a heartwarming display of cross-border compassion, a Chinese-Pakistani charity initiative has launched a month-long “Caring Kitchen” program across Pakistan, providing daily iftar meals to hundreds of families during the holy month of Ramadan 2026, says a report published by Gwadar Pro on Thursday.
The initiative, organized by the China-Pakistan Youth Exchange Community (CPYEC) in collaboration with the Beijing One Heart Sphere Charity Foundation and the Chinese volunteer group Boundless Love, is currently serving 200-300 cooked meals each evening to communities in Islamabad, Gujranwala, Gilgit and Azad Kashmir.
Speaking on behalf of the program, Ma Bin, head of CPYEC, explained that this year’s Ramadan drive represents a continuation of the charitable efforts that first took root 8 years ago.
“What began as small-scale food distributions has grown into a sustained movement of friendship and mutual care between our two peoples,” Ma said.
In the federal capital, the volunteers extended their support beyond cooked meals to include essential food packages donated to the Star School in Islamabad. The parcels, containing rice, flour, cooking oil and pulses, aim to support the nutritional needs of students throughout the holy month.
Over the past 13 years, CPYEC has steadily expanded its charitable footprint across Pakistan, organizing relief activities and development projects in Islamabad, Lahore, Dadu, Gujranwala, Gilgit and Quetta.
Previous initiatives have included sheltering orphans, conducting cataract surgeries for elderly patients, distributing footwear to underprivileged children and delivering relief supplies to flood-affected communities.
As Ramadan continues, organizers say they remain committed to ensuring that no deserving family in their operating areas goes hungry, embodying the spirit of sharing and compassion that defines the holy month.
They have already announced plans to expand the initiative further, with a ten-day temporary kitchen scheduled to be set up in Quetta in the coming days.
